PETER M. CORNELL, RCE, CAE
Peter M. Cornell is the Chief Executive Officer of the Ann Arbor Area Board of REALTORS and former Regional Vice-President of the 800,000 member National Association of REALTORS and former President of the 24,000 member Michigan Association of REALTORS (MAR). He is an instructor on numerous association management, professional standard and REALTOR designation and continuing education subjects, a frequent speaker on these topics, and has been honored with the NAR's Medallion of Service.
He has served for over seven years as a member of NAR's board of directors, has been a member of NAR's Executive Committee, Chairman of NAR's Professional Standards Committee as well as has served on more than thirteen NAR committees and task forces. As an Executive Officer, Mr. Cornell has served as Governor and Technology Tract Leader of NAR's Association Executive Institute.
Active at the state level, he has also served as a member of the MAR board of directors for four years, was a member of MAR's Executive Committee for two years, Chairman of the Professional Standards, Grievance, Personnel and Nominating committees as well as over ten other MAR committees and task forces.
In his capacity as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ann Arbor Area Board of REALTORS for over six years, Mr. Cornell is currently the Chairman of NAR's Association Executive Institute and will serve as its Dean at the Banff, Ontario, Canada Institute in 1999. He is presently a member of the Association Executive Committee, Curriculum Coordinating Committee and a former member of tghe Canadian Real Estate Association Seminar Program Task Force.
Mr. Cornell holds the professional designations of: Certified Residential Specialist, (CRS), REALTOR Certified Executive (RCE) and Certified Association Executive (CAE).
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in history from the University of Michigan, is a graduate of the REALTORS Institute and is a certified Professional Standards instructor.
